JaM -Artist in Homestay- aims at rediscovery of local perspective and deep exchanges between Mexico and Japan, by letting the artists experience the daily life in the other country through a new project style "Artist in Homestay" instead of "Artist in Residence".
This project progresses on a two-year cycle. We select four or five artists each from Japan and Mexico, visit the other country, stay in local households for about two weeks and hold group exhibitions there. This is a continuous project that the artists bring back the experience of getting involved with the local life in a foreign country and connect it to the next cycle.
